Native Title

SO4’s partnership with TMPAC supports heritage protection, jobs, business growth, and lasting social and economic benefits for Aboriginal communities.

SO4 has formed a partnership with the Tarlka Matuwa Piarku Aboriginal Corporation, which represents the native title holders of the land on which our project operations are based. Our objective is to foster positive, long-term, and sustainable economic and social outcomes for the community, while responsibly managing Aboriginal heritage in accordance with legislative and contractual obligations.

We acknowledge that partnerships with Aboriginal communities play a vital role in creating a positive legacy for future generations.

In November 2019, SO4 entered into a comprehensive Land Access Agreement (LAA) with the Tarlka Matuwa Piarku Aboriginal Corporation (TMPAC), ensuring tenure and approval security for the Lake Way Project, while delivering significant economic, social, and environmental benefits to our native title partners and the broader community.

Agreed benefits include:

  • Royalty payments
  • Community support programs
  • Employment and training opportunities
  • Aboriginal business development and contracting opportunities
  • Heritage protection and land management opportunities
